The Donation Center is The Arc's primary funding source and subsidizes programs and services offered to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

 

In 1989 The Arc partnered with the Savers Thrift Store in Boise, in an effort to increase our fundraising revenue, to bring in donations of clothing and household items. Our Donation Program quickly became popular within our community. Donations are sold to the Savers Thrift Store and revenue from this sale goes directly back in to the services offered by The Arc.

 

In 2008 Savers opened a store in Nampa, Idaho and relies on The Arc to supply that store as well.

 

The Donation Center calls over 40,000 telephone numbers each week using a predictive dialer system seeking donations. Donation pick ups are made throughout southwestern Idaho. We also have donation drop off boxes located throughout the Treasure Valley.

 

The Arc appreciates all donations. Please keep us in mind when you are doing your spring cleaning! Unfortunately we are not able to accept heavy items such as appliances and furniture because we only have one driver on our trucks. You are able to donate these heavy items directly at the Savers Thrift Stores. The Arc will still benefit from your donation. The Arc, Inc. is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Your donations qualify as a charitable contribution per IRS determination.

 

Your donations are tax deductible as charitable contributions, and are eligible for extra tax credit with the State of Idaho.
